Dr Cristina Dopazo

Dr Cristina Dopazo trained at Hospital Vall d´Hebron in Barcelona (Spain) and obtained her degree of PhD in 2007.

For the last 13 years Dr. Dopazo has been strongly involved in HPB surgical oncology and liver transplant. She is currently Consultant Surgeon at the Department of Hepato-Pancreato-Bilio Surgery and Liver Transplant at Hospital Vall d´Hebron and assistant professor of surgery at the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB). She did a fellowship in HPB Surgery and Transplant for one year (August 2009-August 2010) in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham (UK) and she has been also in Pittsburgh and Toronto.

She has written more than 40 publications in liver transplant and surgical oncology, and also has participated in different unicenter and multicentre clinical trials. She is currently leading a multicentre study in cholangiocarcinoma and transplant and co-leading a national multicentre study in colorectal liver metastases and transplant.

She is involved in the Education and Training Committee of the European Society for Surgical Oncology (ESSO) and member of the European Cholangiocarcinoma Network and member of the HPB section in the Spanish Surgical Association (AEC).
