Associate professor Christian Sturesson is an academic hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB)-surgeon at Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm, Sweden, performing advanced oncologic surgery. He received his HPB-surgical training at Lund University Hospital, Sweden and during fellowships at Amsterdam University Hospital, Copenhagen University Hospital and Nagoya University Hospital. His main research interest focuses on patient outcome after resection of perihilar cholangiocarcinoma and colorectal liver metastases; investigating different aspects of preoperative chemotherapy. Dr Sturesson is also active in elaborating programs for prehabilitation and enhanced post-surgical recovery.
